CHASSIS: The T1R features a CAD-designed, ultra-stiff chassis with Inline-Flow Cooling System™. The ultra-rigid chassis, molded from a tough specially-formulated composite, was designed to handle the most extreme conditions and overcome serious impacts. The CAD-designed chassis incorporates XRAY’s innovative Inline-Flow Cooling System™ that is used to cool down the batteries and motor. The chassis was rigorously tested in an air-flow tunnel to ensure smooth, directed, effective airflow.
Top deck: The upper deck is designed to absorb energies coming from impacts so the geometry of the car does not change. The top deck provides the whole chassis with enough flex when needed so the car is easy to drive in any racing condition. The top deck can be stiffened by mounting the included top deck mount.   A cool X sign is moulded on the top of the deck.
Rear shock tower: Elegantly-designed rear shock tower offers multiple shock mounting positions. The shock tower also features mounts for the optional rear anti-roll bar.
Front shock tower: Front shock tower offers multiple shock mounting positions and front upper link positions. The shock tower suits smaller and larger tires.
Battery mounts: The chassis layout includes slots for a 6-cell battery saddle pack (3+3) that are held down by smart battery holders secured by four body clips. Battery access is straight-forward for easy and quick battery changes.
Chassis balance: The design of the T1R specifically focused on the best weight distribution and weight transfer. The layout of the entire car is designed to provide the best compromise, and guarantees the best weight distribution. Additional weight tuning is easily done, in a typically XRAY clever way. The chassis features pre-drilled chassis centerline holes for easy chassis balancing using optional chassis weights. You can use the HUDY Chassis Balancing Tool #107880 and additional chassis weights to adjust the chassis balance.
The chassis features pre-drilled chassis locations for optional chassis weights to be placed on the chassis. The T1R is the world’s only touring car that lets you mount additional chassis weights from the bottom of the chassis at the lowest level to keep the CG as low as possible.

Wheelbase: Setting the wheelbase of the T1R is quick and easy. The kit includes shims that are applied in front of and behind the rear lower arms; these set the wheelbase to an optimum setting. However, the default shims can be replaced with easily removable clip-on shims so that you can adjust the wheelbase within a 9mm range.
Bulkheads: Front and rear bulkheads are CNC-machined from highest-quality Swiss T6 duraluminum. The bulkheads feature eccentric nylon holders for the differentials, allowing you to adjust front and rear belt tension quickly and easily without the need for a separate belt tensioner device. The bulkheads include plastic covers and holders for the main layshaft, ensuring the layshaft operates with maximum smoothness.
The bulkheads allow quick and easy setting of front anti-dive and rear anti-squat, by simply releasing two screws and pivoting the whole suspension up or down. A new feature of the rear suspension is an additional mounting position for the rear lower arms to adjust the roll center; again, very quick and easy.
XRAY SHOCKS The T1R features XRAY professional racing shocks. The shocks can be built as either standard shocks, or externally adjustable shocks that need no disassembly to change a piston setting. It is up to the racer as to which shocks to build. The shocks are very easy to build, maintain, and set up. If you build the externally adjustable shocks, adjustment is simplicity itself! Disconnect the shock lower ball joint, pull the shock rod into its fully extended and locked position, and click one, two or three times to set one of four different damping characteristics of the shocks - no disassembly needed! It's easy, it's smart, it's XRAY.
There are three different pistons available in the set + one set of adjustable pistons. All XRAY pistons feature keyed pistons that enable them to firmly lock onto the keyed shock rods. No more stripped pistons on threaded shock rods!
XRAY goes beyond the limits, introducing XRAY self-developed Ultimate Racing Springs. Six different spring sets are available for maximum fine tuning of the damping characteristics. Each set includes four specially-selected springs that guarantee the same characteristic of all four springs in the set, and ensures equal damping characteristics for improved racing performance.

For even more fine tuning of suspension damping, XRAY offers an additional set of ultra-fine tuning springs in addition to the basic set (#308390) of XRAY springs. The ultra-fine tuning springs have different damping and compression characteristics that fall between the ranges of the springs in the basic set. All four XRAY shocks are the same length and use the same parts. Shock bodies are threaded to adjust the ride height; all you need to do is turn the knurled collars up or down.
DRIVE TRAIN Drive train efficiency is of critical importance for maximum performance of the car. XRAY features the most effective 2-belt, 4WD system providing maximum efficiency. XRAY has refined the 2-belt drive system using the tiniest drive shafts in the world, the thinnest possible drive belts, ultra-true wheel adaptors, smoothest ball differentials with ultra true running pulleys, light duraluminum main layshaft, high-speed ball bearings throughout the drive train, and no belt tensioner to break the belts. All this makes the T1R's drivetrain the smoothest and most effective. Get the maximum out of the drive train, you deserve it!
Rebuildable universal drive shafts are made from special world-renowned top-secret self developed HUDY SPRING STEEL. The drive shafts include low-friction drive clips to eliminate wear on diff outdrives. Duraluminum wheel adaptors with integrated hex hubs are heat treated and hardcoated to minimize the wear. The XRAY drive shafts are the tiniest in the world!
The CNC-machined duraluminum main layshaft is very light, and extremely durable. The main layshaft includes precision-molded low-wear pulleys.
XRAY diffs are some of the highest quality and smoothest in the RC industry. Outdrives are CNC machined from lightweight aircraft duraluminum, heat-treated, and hardcoated. The internal axial ball bearing used feature larger-than-standard balls for ultimate smooth operation. XRAY diffs are also the only diffs to feature XRAY-developed Labyrinth Dust Covers™, which are specially-developed nylon covers that seal the internal components of the diff from dust, fibers, and other contaminants. The result? The diffs are extremely well-protected, so there is no need for servicing for a long time. The diffs are externally adjustable, so tightness changes are made with the diffs in the car.
High-performance drive belts are made as thin as possible for maximum drive efficiency, while still being very durable. The belts are Kevlar reinforced for long life.
High-speed ball bearings are used throughout the drive train… in uprights, steering blocks, bulkheads, main layshaft… all rotating parts. This allows the smoothest operation and the highest possible speed. The high-speed ball-bearings, featuring special polyamide blue covers, are degreased and lightly oiled with AeroShell Fluid 12 oil for maximum smoothness, long life, highest tolerance and maximum performance. There is no need to prepare the ball bearings; they give maximum performance right out of the box.
The included spur gear is a state-of-the-art XRAY 48-pitch spur gear. This kit does not include a pinion gear, as it is expected this car will be used for both modified and stock racing, which require different pinion gears. Therefore, use the appropriate pinion gear for the class in which you will be racing your T1R.
The drive train was designed to eliminate the need for a separate belt tensioner. Every force placed on the belts just breaks the belts and decreases the effectiveness of the drive train. Thanks to the adjustable bulkheads you can very easily adjust the tightness of the front and rear belts. Just rotate the adjustable eccentric diff holders in the bulkheads to adjust the tightness of both front and rear belts. It's easy, it's smart, it's XRAY.
STEERING The steering of the T1R is exceptionally smooth, responsive, and precise. The dual Ackermann servo saver offers the possibility to fine-tune steering response. The alloy servo saver post rides in two ball-bearings for the smoothest possible operation. The pre-built servo saver assembly features a strong spring-load.
All steering turnbuckles are adjustable and are made from HUDY SPRING STEEL to guarantee incredible long life and maximum strength.
Both steering blocks feature two different possible steering link mounting positions to fine-tune steering response.
SUSPENSION The T1R C-hub suspension is extremely easy to build and set up. No set-up skills or additional set-up tools are required. The C-hub suspension components were designed to withstand the hardest impacts and to be as light as possible. A specially-formulated composite compound was developed to give the suspension parts extra durability and long life.
The pure racing suspension geometry ensures the best driving response and feedback and maximum control in any racing condition, for unmatched racing performance. The T1R suspension is extremely easy to set up. The toe-in, camber, wheelbase, anti-dive, anti-squat, downstop, and roll center can be quickly changed without additional parts. All settings are done directly with the suspension mounted in the car, and in only a few seconds.
There are several caster blocks available to change the caster easily and quickly. # 302288 and # 302286 – 6° caster blocks, left and right (respectively).
The extra long suspension arms are positioned as close as possible to the centerline of the car to give maximum stability, but also give the car enough responsiveness for maximum quickness through chicanes.
XRAY's plastics engineering experience ensures that all of the molded parts have a perfect fit. All of our plastics' flow, shrinkage, and deformation characteristics are taken into account when designing the parts that won't require any hand fitting. For example, the arms have holes that line up perfectly and assemble with the best precision. You can slide the pivot pin through both holes without modifying the arm, or making the holes larger. XRAY takes care about all details. It's easy, it's smart, it's XRAY.
All front and rear upper links are adjustable and are made from HUDY SPRING STEEL to provide extra ordinary life and the maximum possible strength. A turnbuckle tool for comfortable adjusting of the turnbuckles is of course included.
OTHER COOL X-STUFF There is plenty of other small but neat features included in the T1R. All the great stuff you will discover by assembly or racing.
Front lower bumper is designed to absorb impacts and to significantly reduce the resulting forces that transfer to the chassis. A thick, lightweight foam bumper perfectly protects the front of the car. Another well-designed part is the front upper bumper support made from special compound that can withstand serious impacts. By slightly modifying the front part of the support and shaving the foam bumper, a transponder can be easily placed at the front of the car.
Anti-roll bar mounts are pre-molded into the rear shock tower and front upper bumper holder.
Even the bodymounts are a trick! A pin inserted into predrilled holes in the body posts alters the height of the mounts; body supports (with foam cushions) are clipped onto the pins so the body pivot to conform to the shape of the bodyshell.
The types of screws used on the T1R are kept to a minimum.  Assembly and disassembly, maintenance and tuning, is very quick and easy that you have to experience it yourself. Pure design reigns!
